Meet Buddy

Friday, June 29th, 2007

I was going to wait until I had a picture, but it does not look like it is going to happen any time soon, so…

Let me share the story of how Buddy came to live with us. :)

A friend of mine, from the local mall, asked me if we wanted to have (yes, that means free) their Miniature Schnauzer. (YAY!) The first time we talked, they said he was about 3 months. The second he was about 5 months. Well, even sight unseen and the changes in his age, we adopted our Buddy. They called him Puppy.

Wordless Wednesday

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

This is the first time I am participating in Wordless Wednesday. I have thought about it for a long time. I normally do not share pictures on my blog or on the net.

This is my Uncle Bill, Mom, Aunt Belle and Aunt Kathy. This picture is missing my Uncle Hoot and Aunt Boots.

Updates

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

The past week and a half have been crazy.

Last Monday, I started feeling ill. My throat was hurting very bad. I looked and my tonsils were swollen. Um, I have had them both removed… TWICE.

Last Tuesday, my boss was out of town. I went to work, running a high fever and with a sore throat. When a friend asked me what was wrong, I started crying and told them “I want my mommy.” :thud: I am 37 years old and still want my mom when I am sick. I called the other employee and she came in to let me go home. I went to the dr office. Was told I had a “bug” and that was it. Given an antibiotic.

Teens Driving

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

My oldest got his driving permit yesterday. My “baby” is driving, even if it is only with someone over 21 in the car.

My hubby is loving teaching him how to drive, though.

He will not get his real DL until October, when he turns 16, though.

Some changes being made

Monday, December 18th, 2006

After a heart to heart talk with my kids, I have decided to go through the blog and change their names to nick names. They said they did not mind my sharing their stories, but would like some privacy.

The youngest picked his name, and I used a family name for the oldest. I changed my hubby to DH, as it was the easiest thing I could think of.

You can run but you can’t hide

Saturday, November 25th, 2006

Well, I told you that when I had to choose one to please, I chose my DH. You know that when you are a Christian, that you are to obey God above all others. I knew what I was doing was wrong.

I quit going to church. I quit taking Jorge to church. Moosey continued to go, but the church van provided all the transportation. I quit reading His Word. I quit fellowshipping with other Christians. I quit talking to Him.

The more I played the Sims 2, World of Warcraft and EverQuest, the less I could hear Him. I had this nagging voice in the back of my head, but I wrote it off as just that, a nagging voice. I was miserable.

Boog

Thursday, November 16th, 2006

This is Boog’s journey. Again, I will share things that have to do with a later post, but his story deserves an entry all it’s own.

Boog is a good kid. He is the youngest, and had a hard time when he was young, because of his acid reflux, then tubes in his ears, he did not sleep through the night until he was 4 years old. That is right. It was a very tough 4 years.

He has a flair for the dramatic. Where Moosey is quiet, Boog makes up for it in sharing. He has to be the center of attention all the time, and usually, it is because his head hurts, he “feels weird”, or is very angry. Yep, my Boog had anger issues.

Moosey

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

At the end of this entry, it is going to tie in with an entry that will be made later. It is time for me to share Moosey’s story.

You see, Moosey is a very quiet young man. He does not share many feelings and thoughts with me. I usually find out something is not right, when I get contacted by the school or a friend. I love Ray. He is a great kid. He is a teenager, and like all teens, he is an individual. I try to teach him to embrace individualism, as long as it does not hurt anybody.

Moosey wants to be a rock star. I pray that he changes that to a christian rock star.

Peace… for a little while

Monday, November 13th, 2006

I prayed about which church to attend and the one that Ray was already attending on Wednesdays kept coming up, so we started attending Central Baptist Church on Sunday mornings. It is a big church with lots of activities for the children and youth, but it has the small church feel to it. It just felt like home.

Wednesday nights, I attended a bible study, led by CoCo Mullins. CoCo is such a great speaker and teacher. Sundays I attend the Women in the Word class, led by Dr. Katheryn Presley. The ladies in this class are so wise and loving. It feels like home.

Moosey has stayed active with the youth on Wednesdays, and Sunday nights, but that is for another entry.

Boog attended Kid’s Town and Sunday School on Sundays. AWANAs on Wednesday. But again, that is for another entry.

I surrounded myself with Godly influences. I was offered a job at the Christian Bookstore, in the mall. It was the hand of God moving. I took the job. Things were great, but satan was not happy. I learned so much about the Bible while I was at the bookstore. I loved going to work every day. It just felt right. Things just seemed to be falling into place.

Getting Started

Saturday, November 4th, 2006

I said I was going back a year for this, but actually I am going back to my childhood.

I do not remember dates or even years for much of this. It is not that I am “old” but more that dates did not seem important at the time. When I was 8 or so, my family started attending a church in our home town. It was a small baptist church. The assistant pastor was a great Godly man. We respected him, greatly. I still think fondly of him and his family, when I think of Godly families that I would like to emulate.

I remember Tim and Beverly LaHaye coming to a service. I remember that was the first stirring of the spirit I had felt. I was about 11 at that time. He was very moving in his sermon.
