Christian Denominations

I have some things I want to share with you, but before I do, I need to share my take on the denominations of our churches.

When Christ did most of His teaching, He was not in the synagogue. He did most of His teaching out in the open.  The apostles went to the synagogues to start, but they moved their ministry to homes, then churches. The division did not start until men came along behind them and started setting up rules.

When Jesus returns, do you really think that He is going to say  “You belong to this denomination, you are coming with Me.” and “You belong to that denomination, you are not coming with Me.”? I do not believe He is. It is my firm belief that He is going to say something more like “My beloved child. I dwell in your heart on earth, now come with Me.” and “I do not know you.”

What denomination we belong to does not matter, as long as what is in our hearts is the Word of God. If the Holy Spirit indwells you, you are going to Heaven.

    I agree that denominations don’t matter…God never told us we had to be Methodists to enter Heaven…So, what are you wanting to share?

    No, Jesus is not going to say that. Those who’s names are in the Book of Life will go with Him. There will be some - regardless of what ever denomination that do not go and He will say, “Depart for I knew ye not”.

    Thank you for this post. My husband and I come from different denominations and have been going back and forth about where we want to settle (as far as a church goes). I think this will help us settle upon a church without getting caught up in what we are used to.
