That being said, between now and the election, I will be posting a bit on my thoughts on the issues and the candidates. This is not a political blog. This will not become  a political blog.

Cell Phone Vs. Bible

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

This is one of those “goodies” circulating the internet. I do not know the original author, but I had to share. How very true.
Cell Phone Vs. Bible

I wonder  what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we flipped through it several time a day?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn’t live without it?

What if we gave it to Kids as gifts?

What if we used it when we traveled?

What if we used it in case of emergency?

This is something to make you go….hmm…where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing. .Unlike our cell phone, we don’t have to Worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the  bill.

Makes you stop and think “where are my priorities?

And no dropped calls!

So Long Self - Mercy Me

The song going through my mind right now. Gotta love it!

Well, maybe I do not have the answers, after all.

I went to my rheumatologist today.  It seems that my AntiCardiolopin Antibodies are at 11 this week. Since that is only one point over positive, I am not considered to have Antiphospholipid Syndrome. Or at least not by him. He put me on blood pressure meds, to try to control the constricting of the capillaries in my fingers and toes. That is due to the Raynaud’s Phenomenon, which is being treated as primary at this point. There are those out there that say positive is positive and that I should get a new doctor. All I can say is that the only other choice for a rheumy, I have locally, I do not want. I will stick with my current doctor. ;)

I know there is more and I know that when God is ready for me to know what all is going on with my body, I will know it. I just have to be patient and not give up. :)

I have given this all to the Lord, and I know He will take care of it. I just wanted to give you all an update as to what was going on.  God is good and His will is perfect.

How Great is Our God

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

I woke up with this song in my head this morning. Actually I wake up to this song playing in my head most mornings. :)

I do just love this song. It is a great reminder. Sing with me:

“How Great Is Our God”

The splendor of a King, clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice
All the earth rejoice

He wraps himself in Light, and darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice
Trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end
Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One
Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb

Name above all names
Worthy of our praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

For Our Soldiers

Friday, October 19th, 2007

I got this in an email and decided to share it here, after sending my card.

If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can’t pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.

How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!!

This is a great site.

Please send a card. It is FREE and it only takes a second.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our guys and gals over there need to know we are behind them …

Thankful Thursday

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

You know, when I woke up this morning and realized that I would have time to participate in Thankful Thursday, I did not expect the news that I read when I pulled up Sting My Heart. Well, I suppose it was not a huge shock, if you read Iris’ blog, but still, it saddened my heart. Before I start in on my post, I want to speak to Iris. I know that you do not know me, but you and your blogging has touched my life greatly. I will be keeping up with you at the Internet Cafe and Laced with Grace. I will be praying for you, while you go through the issues in your life. I look forward to your return to Sting My Heart. You are a very dear Christian woman, and I have enjoyed reading your blog.

I thought about going with a theme, but to be honest with you, I have a hard time sticking to one theme, if you cannot tell by my blog. It is a personal blog with strong emphasis on Christ. Then I read Sting My Heart this morning and I decided to run with what my heart tells me I need to share.

16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
17
For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.
18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

  • I am thankful for Iris and her hosting of Thankful Thursday. Allowing other people to share what they are thankful for, and making them feel like friends.
  • I am thankful for Lynn, Laurel and Crystal, for helping out and taking over the hosting while Iris takes a break. Thank you, ladies!
  • (and with those thanks, I blew my theme, but lets see if I can get back to it).
  • This week I did a lot of studying about the flesh and the Spirit. The Word has been speaking a lot to me about that. I am thankful for God’s Word, that it is like an instruction manual for our lives.
  • I am thankful for the countless resources that are provided to help us learn from God’s Word.
  • The resource that I am the most thankful for is God, Himself. The Holy Spirit helps us to understand what the Word is saying. He is always with us, indwelling in every believer.
  • I am thankful that my oldest has not had any accidents and that all is well with his driving (0ff my theme, again).
  • I am thankful that his job is going well, and that he enjoys going to work.
  • I am thankful that he is playing for the youth worship team and that he is learning worship music on his guitar. I love hearing him play, now. ;)
  • I am thankful that he chooses his friends more wisely now (looks like I could do an entire thankful post on him ;) )
  • I am thankful that my husband’s best friend got married this past weekend. It is so wonderful that at 40+ people can find there true love and fall madly in love. Not marrying until you know that this is the person that God created to love you. It was a beautiful wedding. The Bride and Groom are very happy.
  • I am thankful that I go get my blood work this week and I go back to the rheumatologist next week. It will be good to have more answers, if it is God’s time for me to know.
  • I am thankful to God for all things, good and bad. He created the earth and everything in it. Even sin is not created by the devil, it is a perversion of something that God created.

With that, I leave you this morning. If you would like to participate in Thankful Thursday, or read other posts, please visit Sting My Heart to join in.

    Amazing Because It Is

    Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

My new favorite song, thanks to my son.

Check out The Almost on MySpace and listen to it. I wish it had a YouTube so I could share the video.  Or if you prefer, it is my profile song, on MySpace. You can listen to it there. Let me know what you think. :)

    Bittersweet Day

    Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

I am so torn. I am happy and I want to lock myself in the bathroom and cry my eyes out.

My oldest turns 16 today. He has his first truck, he gets his license this morning, and he starts his job on Thursday.

The job is nice, it is not far from mine, but yet far enough that I cannot be an over bearing mom and go in and check on him every five minutes. The other job he wanted was right next door and I think that would have been bad. I think I would be more worried about what was going on with him than what is happening at my work. Yep, I am one of those moms. ;)

Oh, and loose on the streets… He starts driving in earnest today. Driving without his dad, or myself, in the car. On his own.

No more driving him around. No more giving him movie money. It is all over.

Please pray for my peace with this, and please pray for his safety as he spreads his wings, just a little bit, and his wisdom that he continues to make wise choices. Thank you!

    Me? Fabulous?

    Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

TK thinks so! I am thrilled that TK thinks that. Makes my day! I think TK are pretty fabulous, too! Let me tell you, I am completely floored with the awards. I love my bloggy friends.

    Totally Fabulous Award

I know that a lot of the blogs that I would give this award to have already received it. I am going to list them anyway. They deserve the recognition.

Becki at Vote for Becki, A Walk Through the Valley, Blog Mommas and Weights the Matter. Becki is the person who got me really into blogging. Before I got to know her, I just piddled around with blogs. Becki is the Blog Momma! I just love her and she is TOTALLY FABULOUS!

Ang at Ang4Him. Ang can really make one think with her wonderful posts on the Word of God. I just love visiting her blog and reading what all she has to share with us.

Heather at Diary of a Hope Filled Mom, Christian Stay at Home Moms and Moms Making a Difference.  Heather is a wonderful person. She makes a difference in everyone’s life that she touches. She may not know it, but she does. God uses Heather in wonderful ways. She is a treasure to know.

Christina at Refuge for a Single Mom. You do not have to be a single mom to appreciate the wisdom and love that Christina shares through her blog.  Christina and her blog are amazing. I am so proud to be her friend.

Liz at Looney Bin 4 Sure. Liz is a great person. She is open and honest and I am happy to be her friend.

There are so many other blogs out there that deserve this award. I could list them all day long, with reasons why they deserve it.
