I have not done a blogthing in a while, but I saw this and thought it might be fun. :)

A is for Adaptable

What Does Your Name Mean?

Funny, except for the “L” is it pretty dead on about me. At one time I was Luxurious, then I had kids. ;)

Thankful Thursday

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

This week Thankful Thursday is being hosted by Lynn @ Spiritually Unequal Marriage. Thank you, Lynn for hosting TT this week, while Iris is on vacation.

Also, I work from 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM today and Saturday, and 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM on Friday, so I may not make it by all the participants blogs this week, but I will certainly make it by early next week, when things slow down.

So much to be thankful for… where do I start?

John 3:16 (NASB): “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

How humbling is it, that Jesus willing came, took our sins upon Himself, and died for us, so that we could have fellowship with the Father? Very humbling. Thank you, to our Triune God, that He loved His creation enough to redeem us.

I am thankful that I have a job where I can invest my life, my friendships with people, and that maybe the seeds I plant with them will bud into a new life in Christ, someday.

I am thankful that I have a job where we all get along and that we pull together when one of us needs something.

I am thankful that this is the last chemo session for my friend Jo. With that, I also pray that her MRI comes back clear, next month.

I am thankful for good Christian fiction.

I am thankful for my friends.

I am thankful for my husband. He is a good man. He is a good husband. He is a good father. I love you, Jim.

I am thankful that we were able to get Moosey a truck, that he can practice driving in, since he gets his licenses in less than 2 weeks.

I am thankful that no matter what, things always end up working out for the glory of the Lord. We may not see it, we may make bad choices along the way, but in the end, God’s will always is accomplished. Oh, what a beautiful thought. (Look for a post about that coming when I have time to type it out.)

Be sure to stop by Spiritually Unequal Marriage and read what others are thankful for this week, and be sure to participate. It is such a blessing to think about what all God has done for us.

Tagged - 5 Things You Probably Don’t Know About Me

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

I was tagged, during my break, by Dianna. I am sorry it is taking me so long to get to this.

1. My mom called me “Moose” when I was a baby hoping I would grow up, be big and ugly, so that no guy would ever want to marry me.

2. My sister is also my best friend.

3. I love to clean. There is something so satisfying about seeing a total mess disappear. I really do love cleaning my house.

4. I do not do it (see number 3). I do not know why it is so hard for me to be motivated to clean, but it is. :(

5. I love to read. Now that is something I am easily motivated to do!

I am supposed to tag 5 others, but I am sure most of my bloggy friends have already done this. SO, if you have not, please consider yourself tagged. Be sure, that if you do post this, to come and leave a comment so I can read your facts!

Checking in

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

I have been reading many of your blogs, through subscriptions. I have not really cut back my computer time as much as I had planned. :( My house is still a mess, but that is because I am working more hours at work, and having less time at home.

I am involved in two extensive Bible studies. Both of which I highly recommend. The first is with my Sunday School Class and it is Victorious Christian Living. I am learning a lot from this study. It is very convicting.

The other study that I am doing is Five Aspects of Woman.  I almost did not take this study, but the women’s minister at my church called me and suggested it. So, here I am. I am enjoying it.

Both classes have a lot of homework, but they also connect. It is great to see how God works, in getting His message across.

I am still working on getting my house, my life and my heart all “clean” but here is the beauty of it. I am HUMAN. I will never be perfect. The only way I can have fellowship with God, is not through MY perfection, but through the perfect sinlessness of the One who died for our sins, our Lord, Jesus Christ.

I will be back more, as I can. Hopefully I will be able to post and read more often, soon.

In Christ,
Melissa
