Too many doctors are concerned about things other than providing their patients with the best available healthcare. Like the doctor who dropped me as a patient when I was 7 months pregnant because he didn't want to drive through traffic to the hospital where I was planning to deliver (despite a previous agreement to deliver there.) Or the pedi who wanted to x-ray my 3-month old's birthmark because he didn't believe it wasn't a bruise! Or the OB who vetoed most of my birth plan and commented on "women who read about childbirth online and think they know what they are talking about." (This was not my first child, either.) Or the doctor who insisted on treating a non-pregnancy related blood clot with medication that could have killed my 12 weeks gestation daughter -- and lied to cover for himself. Or the doctor who said that my daughter's allergy to vaccine ingredients was no reason not to vaccinate her!

People are always telling me to trust doctors because they went to med school, and I used to. I'm just glad I didn't trust any of them into killing or injuring one of my kids.

I'm with you girl. I have gotten the lecture about imagining things or wasting time, or the "I've never seen anything like it before". I have several issues that are rare as well, though I have gotten some things diagnosed. I have low body temperature, and yet when I try to say I have a fever (which for me is over 99 C. I get the "well, we just don't consider that a fever" lecture. I also have lichen sclerosus (http://lichensclerosusawareness.blogspot.com/), which took a long time to get diagnosed. I still have some other skin issues that no one seems to know what it is, and a number of other things.

I too have gotten tired of doctors who are unwilling to admit that they don't know something in a given area. At the least, they should be referring you to someone who might know what they're talking about. I have only had one doctor in my doctor-going life that was willing to admit that something was out of his range of knowledge. He referred me to a specialist, and I had a true diagnosis for one of my issues. That one doctor admitting he didn't know something changed much of my life.

I hope that you are able to find out what is going on. It's so frustrating knowing that something is not right, and not being able to find anyone else willing to listen to you, and find the answer.

God bless! :)
