A Cup of Tea With Me

Becki has started the Thankful Thursday 13. Well, lets be honest, Becki has been doing the Thankful Thursday 13 for some time, and I have not participated.

This week, I am participating, and I have it on my calender to do every Thursday, except for next Thursday, but you will see why in my list.

1. I am thankful that God forgives our sins. That He loves us, even when we are unlovable.

2. I am thankful that I am able to attend the family reunion next week. When I was growing up, we had these every year. We have not had them since I was in my early teens. I have not seen many of my cousins and aunts and uncles since then. It will be wonderful to see them. I have so many memories of these reunions, when I was growing up.

3. I am thankful that My Beloved has secured the time off to go to NM with me to the reunion. It will be wonderful to have him meet so much of my family. He will see a little more of where I came from. I will enjoy it so much.

4. I am thankful that Boog has been allowed to spend time with his grandparents, just him and them. He never really got to do this as a baby. His health issues prevented it, and then when he got older, they moved back to NM and the only times he has visited with them, Moosey and/or Kaitlyn has been there too.

5. I am thankful that after her husband left her, Valorie has been such a strong person. I am glad that she decided to go back to school. I am also glad that she is continuing to see a counselor and that CoCo is helping her. **side note, I love it when spell check does not like the spelling of her name. It just reminds me what a wonderfully unique person she truly is.** I am also thankful that she is my sister.

6. I am thankful that God gives us direction. I am thankful that He does not give up on us. I know we make Him angry when we do not listen. I know that we hurt Him. He always takes us back.

7. I am thankful for music. When I am down, I can listen to a good praise and worship song and it will lift me. When I have let satan whisper in my ear, I can listen to “Take You Back” and I know that God is there. He is just waiting on me. I just need to turn to Him.

8. I am thankful for faith. Even when I do not show my faith, I always know that if I would just turn to Him he would take care of everything. I know that I am not right when I know these things and I do not act upon them. I know it hurts Him, and I am sad to know that I hurt Him when I do this. But I am thankful to know that He is always there.

9. I am thankful for my job. I get out of the house for a while. I meet new and interesting people. I sell something I love. I have the best boss a person could ask for. It is just a great job.

10. I am thankful for my dad’s job allowing him to make the deliveries to the TAMU Fire School. This means I get to see him about once a week. When you go from once a year to once a week seeing a loved one, it is such a blessing. I will be so sad when the deliveries are completed, but I am thankful for them while they last.

11. I am thankful for writing. It helps me to see things that I need to see. It helps me to move upon things that need moved upon. When I sit down and write, it is like it all just pours out of me. Things I did not know where in me. I have discovered much about myself these past few days, reading and writing.

12. I am thankful for the Word of God. I have been digging deeper in it the past few days. I have learned so much about the grace of God, His love and His sacrifice. I am humbled that He loves us so much to give us our life instruction manual. Answers to every life question are in there, if we would just turn to it.

13. I am thankful for the opportunity to write this list. The reflection time I have had writing this list has been wonderful. I was not sure I could make it to 13, and here I am wanting to type out another 13. Maybe I will start next weeks post, and save it to be published next Thursday.
