April is Autism Awareness Month

A very dear friend of mine has a son who is Autistic. He has what they call “HFA” or “High Functioning Autism” and the doctors believe he may possibly have what is known as Asperger’s Syndrome. She says, “The world of Autism has been scary, enlightening, weird, confusing, joyful, encouraging, bizarre, educational, intimidating, strengthening, and just about every other emotion I could possibly name.”
While I don’t make it a point to ask for money on my blog, I do want to point out that Autism Speaks has teamed up with Toys-R-Us in an incredible fundraiser that I believe will help do a world of good not only to raise awareness for this very confusing disorder, but also raise funds to help with treatment, diagnosis, and more.
If you have a spare buck, consider joining in and helping. If not, consider raising awareness by making a blog post about it yourself. Please take the time to look at the dates and cities for the Walk Now For Autism events, and see if you can participate. If you cannot please donate to help.
